Greg & Anna – Belfast Wedding Magic
What a day! This one had everything — local, laid-back, and full of laughs from start to finish.
Greg and Anna’s whole day was beautifully Belfast — everything within about five miles. That made it a dream to shoot. We kicked off with prep photos — Anna looking relaxed and radiant, while Greg’s side… let’s just say things were running on “groom time.” We still managed to grab a few quick shots before dashing to the church.
The ceremony was lovely — heartfelt and genuine (though a few of the kids looked like they’d rather be anywhere else!). After a quick group photo and a few family shots in the church, I spotted a field next door. Five minutes later, we’d waded in and come out with some of my favourite portraits of the day.
From there, we raced down to Botanic Gardens — just in time. None of us realised there was a closing time, but the head gardener couldn’t have been nicer. He waved us in, and we made a mad dash for the Palm House. A few quick shots with the light streaming through the glass, and then I found this perfect set of benches for the bridal party — quick, fun, and absolutely nailed it.
Then it was on to Deanes at Queen’s — one of my favourite Belfast venues. This was my fourth wedding there, and every time I’m reminded why it’s such a gem for small, intimate celebrations. The place looked incredible, the service was flawless, and the food… unreal. Hands down the best wedding grub I’ve had all year (you can really taste the difference between a restaurant and a wedding venue, sorry – shouldn’t say that, LOL).
As the evening rolled in, the atmosphere just got better — great music, a cracking band, and that kind of warm, happy buzz you never want to end.
