Rustic character, Warm Hospitality & Endless Photo Magic

The Wool Tower is one of those rare venues that feels instantly welcoming the moment you arrive. It’s full of character, full of charm, and full of beautifully preserved history — yet it manages to feel modern, polished and effortlessly stylish at the same time. I’ve photographed many weddings here over the years, and it remains one of the most enjoyable venues to shoot at.

With the brand-new ceremony room launching for 2025, the Wool Tower has elevated itself even further. It’s bright, spacious, atmospheric and full of that rustic-meets-industrial beauty the venue is known for. Whether you’re planning something intimate or a big celebration, this space just works.

And of course… a huge part of what makes the Wool Tower such a joy is the team — especially Amy, who runs everything with warmth, calm and absolute professionalism. Every wedding feels relaxed and flawlessly organised, which means couples get to enjoy themselves without a single worry.

A Venue Full of Hidden Corners and Creative Photography Spots

One of the reasons I love working at the Wool Tower is how many incredible photo locations are tucked into the estate — most of them only a few metres apart.

You can disappear for five minutes, capture amazing portraits, and be back with your guests before they’ve even finished their drinks. It’s perfect for couples who want beautiful imagery without losing precious time on their day.

Some of my favourite locations include:

  • Down by the stream at sunset
This is pure magic. The sun drops through the trees, creating warm golden light that’s perfect for portraits, sparklers or a quick golden-hour moment just the two of you. It’s one of the most atmospheric woodland edges of any venue in Northern Ireland.
  • The gorgeous new ceremony room (from 2025 onwards)
Bright, elegant and beautifully restored — the perfect blend of rustic and refined. It’s a stunning setting for saying your vows and looks incredible in photographs.
  • The upstairs dining room — one of the nicest anywhere
Honestly, the dining room is a masterpiece: stone flooring, exposed wooden beams, soft lighting and a warm, intimate feel. It looks fantastic in both natural light and candlelight and creates a dining atmosphere that guests rave about.
  • Dozens of nooks and crannies
Archways, textured stone walls, timber beams, hidden corners, courtyard spaces — everywhere you turn, there’s another naturally beautiful backdrop waiting.
  • The riverwalk and woodland edge
Soft light, natural textures and just the right amount of wildness. Perfect for relaxed couple portraits that feel romantic and organic.
  • The guest-focused layout
Everything is close together. Guests never feel lost or scattered — and couples never have to stray far to create beautiful images.
