Weddings at Larchfield Estate

Where Rustic Charm Meets Timeless Elegance

I’ve been photographing weddings at Larchfield Estate for around 14 years (I think), I can still remember exactly what it was like in the early days. Back then, it was just the barn — no bar, no orangery, no ceremony spaces, no polished garden rooms. There was a little marquee attached to the side if anyone needed extra space. It was charming, raw, and full of potential.

Fast-forward to today, and my goodness… what a transformation.
The orangery, the perfectly maintained gardens, the new ceremony space, the beautifully restored piggery, and of course the cottages — Larchfield has evolved into one of the most iconic and immaculately run wedding venues in Northern Ireland. You even have the option to stay in the converted army truck (and yes, one day I will stay there — preferably with Archie, my dog!).

I’m honoured to be a preferred supplier here, and having watched Larchfield grow from its early beginnings to this world-class estate makes every wedding feel extra special.

Why Larchfield Estate Is a Photographer’s Dream

Here are all the reasons Larchfield works effortlessly — visually, logistically and atmospherically.

  • Perfectly maintained, beautifully curated gardens
The gardens are immaculate — manicured lawns, seasonal florals, walled garden textures, elegant paths and courtyards. Everything is within walking distance and everything photographs beautifully. You genuinely never need to leave the estate.
  • A venue that works in every type of weather
From the orangery to the greenhouse-style glass spaces and atmospheric barn interiors, Larchfield is one of the easiest venues in the country for all-weather photography. Rain or shine, the options are endless.
  • The barn — rustic, warm and full of soul
The historic barn is the heart of the venue. With its stone walls, timber details and timeless charm, it creates a stunning backdrop for ceremonies, receptions and portraits. It has that wow factor couples fall in love with.
  • Exceptional accommodation — cottages and that truck
The on-site cottages are luxurious, spacious and just steps from the main barn — perfect for staying over, getting ready, or rolling into bed after a long night of celebrating.
And then there’s the famous army truck: quirky, cosy and unlike anything else. I’m still determined to stay there one day with Archie!
The best part? You don’t have to go anywhere. Everything is within 100 yards of the front door.
  • A team who run weddings flawlessly
The staff, management and behind-the-scenes crew are all exceptional — calm, professional and genuinely passionate. Their ability to create a smooth, stress-free day means couples relax, enjoy themselves and look their very best in photos.
  • The shy alpacas (a little bonus!)
If you’re lucky, you might spot the resident alpacas in the back fields. They’re a bit shy — but when they wander close enough for a cameo, it’s always a memorable moment.
  • History, soul & a decade of evolution
This was the first “proper” standalone wedding venue I ever photographed outside of a hotel, and watching it become what it is today gives the place a sense of nostalgia and significance for me — and a depth of familiarity that truly benefits every couple I work with.

Larchfield Estate isn’t just a venue.
It’s a beautifully curated countryside escape — with luxury, charm, character and history baked into every space.
